I am a very disorganized, fly by the seat of my pants artist type. Sometimes the pieces get changed 30 seconds before I finish them, and sometimes I have to sit on an idea for months until I have an ah-ha moment and the connections all fall into place. So it’s not really a surprising that I’ve only really gotten organized in the last two months. I’ve spent the better part of the last 4 years collecting and archiving my materials, starting projects and then having to stop after the first or second step in my process because of space, missing materials, or the invasion of outside forces (aka children).
But now… You have no idea how much difference organizing my work and materials has made in producing my artwork. I’ve been finishing 1 or 2 small pieces a week, and make strides on two or three more at the same time. Then, I’m getting around to finishing at least one Large piece every month. I’ve NEVER had this level of productivity. EVER. Not even for school.
The next step is that I really need to get my artwork up in a proper presentation online. :) Good things, man, good things.
